Grand Lodge of the Month - March 2015

The Grand Lodge of Nevada was chartered in 1865 when representatives of several lodges chartered by the Grand Lodge of California met in convention at Virginia City. Those founding lodges were re-chartered as: Carson City 1, Carson City; Washoe 2, Washoe City; Virginia Lodge 3, Amity Lodge 4, Silver Star 5 Escorial 6 all at Virginia City; Esmeralda Lodge 6, Aurora; and Lander 8, Austin. George W. Bailey of Esmeralda Lodge was the first Grand Master of Masons in Nevada.

Today, The Grand Lodge of Nevada has 42 local lodges and over 4,000 Masonic brothers.
